patience is required to get that shot
without revealing the throng of hungry tourists
amassing from the cruise ships
Near-sighted photographers
having lunch in quaint Greek villages
should remember
to put their glasses back on
before focusing
oops
S is for Santorini
not my favorite Greek Isle
but beloved by so many
Its little adobe abodes do remind me of
my little house
in old
Santa Fe
ABC Wednesday
is at Mrs. Nebitts place
Great choice and the pictures are just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Santorini might not be your favorite isle but I'd give my eye teeth to be there... Crimson flora under my window and... beaches. I'd never sleep.
ReplyDeleteLet's hear about your little house in Santa Fe.
Hugs,
Mary

Your pictures certainly convey an atmosphere of the place, not that I have been there.

ReplyDeleteYour first photo makes the church look like a wedding cake decoration, so soft and dreamy.
And nice real saddles on the donkeys in caravan.
All so lovely, your scenes.
Thank you!
This is such a lovely post, and I'll forgive you for the fuzzy donkeys - they're beautiful anyway you look at them!
ReplyDeleteYour lovely photos make me want to just sit up there, among the flowers, & sip wine. And I don't even LIKE wine!

ReplyDeleteHey TR, I've left one of those blog award thingies for you over at my blog.
ReplyDeleteYour photos shimmer like a dream. Thank you for waiting for the tourists to clear. Blurry donkeys don't bother me.
ReplyDeletei love these, fresh angles on a familiar scene. I adore that special shade of blue they use for the doors and domes. Would love to travel the Med one day. I grew up on the writings of Gerald Durrell and would love to see Crete too.
