  4. That's such a great set of images. I especially liked the colors in the umbrellas and the bolts of fabric.

  5. These are some fabulous photos. I'm sure if I were there I would be too overwhelmed to get such great shots. I especially love the bolts of fabric, the little girl and the parasols. All of the photos give such a flavor of the place.

  7. This is a fascinating variety of photos, TR, colorful and exotic. I very much enjoyed the photo of the small girl with that big headdress, and wonder how it's affixed to her hair. Enlarging the photo did not reveal the secret.

I'm looking forward to the next installment. Have fun; be safe.

  8. Oh T.R. T.R. T.R. How on earth am I ever going to compete with your beautiful photography? You have such an eye. I am trying to learn from you, and fast.

Maybe when we meet up in Beijing, you can give me a 5-minute most-important-things-to-consider lesson?!

  10. I am insanely jealous! Not only that you get to be in China, but that you saw a freakin' Snail Kite! You suck. ;-)

Seriously, though, have fun while you're over there and bring home lots of memories (and share them with us!!!).

  11. Another world, indeed. I'm so ready for August 8.

Enjoy, Tim! What a colorful place... You take me away with your photos. I hope you can maintain your internet connection and share more with us.

    Be safe and happy.

  12. These are great pictures, and they make me want to go there.

I assume if it's not Oklahoma, it must be Kansas or something then, right?

  13. Holy cultural immersion, Timtim!

These are some beautiful images, a nice flavor of your introduction.

Somehow, I can't help but wonder how amusing it might be to hear a chorus sing a Chinese-language version of "Oklahoma"...
