Zen and the Art of Window Shopping on the Silk Road

  1. The colors are just overwhelming. Definitely different "window displays" than we are used to in the U.S.

And the painting is exquisite. Would be hard to not take something like that home.

  2. All those colors & textures. Wonderful. I just wish I was over there w/a wad of cash. I love that stuff.

  3. What fabrics! Did you handle any of those brushes? And I love all the blending of time from myth to Mao.

  4. Lovely photos; very exotic displays. The fourth photo from the bottom reminds me of a former boyfriend (or should that be boy-fiend?) LOL

Well, who wouldn't be elated after that kind of window shopping? Such vivid colours. Breathtaking.

  8. Such very beautiful images. I admire your gift with the camera. I am trying desperately to find someone in Marrakech to teach me a few camera basics - it's not easy.

  9. Absolutely beautiful photos! ...and there's no way that I'd be satisfied with just window shopping - I'd definitively buy a brush or two ;-)

  10. Fantastic images, as always, sir. You've got a wonderful eye. Two, actually, I think. ; )

The sixth image, are those brushes of some kind? Like for calligraphy or something? Hard to know what scale we're looking at, but they appear to be exquisite.

And the chocolate tea set intrigues me. How do the Chinese fare in les artes del chocolat?

(Yep, I'm totally making up languages now...)

  11. Takes me back to my years in the orient.
And I like the gold dust day gecko in the sidebar. I tried breeding a pair of them once (unsuccessfully).

Those are some of the most amazing photos. Can you bring me back some of those shoes? :)

What I love about Chinese textiles is the rich colors and prolific use of red.~~Dee
