I am working this week on the shores of Lake Michigan in Wisconsin. This is my first time to travel to Wisconsin and this marks my 43rd state in the Union to visit. Still missing: Washington, Oregon, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska and West Virginia.
I have not spent much time around the Great Lakes either. It is very hard to wrap my head around the fact that I am not at the sea with these crashing waves and miles of sandy beaches. I think the word "lake" is very misleading word to describe this great inland sea.
