Arabian Desert outside of Dubai United Arab Emirates August 2015 - ©trryan |
I am a lover of deserts. They are epic, timeless, ancient, silent, intimate and full of life defying the greatest of odds. I'm grateful to have gotten the chance to spend a short time in the Arabian Desert before heading to Russia. I think the Little Prince sums up the desert experience most aptly: "I have always loved the desert. One sits down on a desert sand dune, sees nothing, hears nothing. Yet through the silence something throbs and gleams.
The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
