I was taking my pre-dawn loop through the Chichen Itza ruins - illegally before it opened. As I came around the back of the Hacienda Chichen -- a new world Cathartidae perched on top of this family chapel displaying it's spread wing stance. For me in that second, I decided the image symbolized the triumph of nature over man -- or nature over organized religion. One can only hope. This was during the T.B.B. period (time before birding) --so I can only guess it's a TV.

Beautiful photos
The other day I was walking in downtown Spokane, and I saw a large bird perched atop the eastern cross on Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Cathedral. It was too large to be a raven or crow. I think it had to be an eagle, just based on the body shape. When I saw it, I remembered the photograph you took, and actually had a similar thought about indigenous spirituality and organized religion.
Sadly, my camera just couldn't manage getting the picture from that far away.
These guys are amazing birds and you captured their photo's perfectly! BRAVO!
