The Life Aquatic - Urban Kayaking in Oklahoma City

Perhaps its a odd for a fire-breathing Leo to find no greater sense of joy and peace than when on the water in some capacity. Any capacity. Swimming, floating, sailing, fishing and....kayaking

Not sure there is anything more magnificent than being on the water in a kayak.

Floating among the clouds in liquid rhythm

"Beauty is stacked three deep and it is difficult to find the bones beneath all this pleasant padding."
Bill G. - From the fantastic blog Dragongate while sailing on the ship "Amazon"

Cutting through soft water in a silent glide and for a moment...at one with nature

“ He taught me.... how to sense the spirit in discrete things, the shards of the seemingly impossible that glitter beyond the edge of imagining.” ‘Sweeter than the world.’ by Rudy Wiebe.

Reflecting on just about anything

or nothing at all

The Life Aquatic - right here in Oklahoma

Who says New Mexico has the market on sunsets?

Sunset - Lake Hefner, urban Oklahoma City.

Another reason why I love Oklahoma!

I think you should haul your kayak up here to Minnesota-
the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

What a wonderful way to get out on the quiet water and to see such gorgeous skies. That may rival even Arizona. Great captures.

Okay, I'm gonna have to be the practical one here...
I would be nervous and Hell taking my camera in a kayak. Are there any waterproof compartments to store priceless electronics? What if you roll over???
*hyperventilating a little*
Other than that... all your photos are perfect. As usual.

Well! There is nothing like a big dose of learning along with all the beautiful words and photos you have served up here. I had no idea there was so much water in Oklahoma City. Of course, being in New Mexico (yes, great sunsets here), any water catches my eye!

Very, very lovely. Thank you for sharing via Skywatch (and thank you for stopping by The Zees).

Those sunset pics are incredible, stunning in fact. Your use of language is perfect for description... liquid rhythm and to find the bones beneath. I'd love to go kayaking sometime but, if not I'd like to go canoeing again. Have a great night.

Hi TR,
This is my monthly visit to your beautiful world. Not a lack of interest, just weak connection with BlogWorld.

Thank you for sharing these home views. I feel so happy when I visit! It takes a real man to love home as much as he loves Paris.

The theme of reflection is so perfect for a home visit. My favorite is the puffy cloud reflecting off of spotty water. There's a metaphor somewhere in there...
