oh, my gosh. that first picture is haunting. it was haunting before i noticed the white faced doll peeking up from the water's surface. a muse is guiding you to these opportunities. your photography is so memorable TR. you have waht no photography school can teach. you've been holding these back since november 2008? what else are you holding out on us!?! we love you!!!

Thanks Jen! These images were originally put in the "maybe later" pile - a pile I've recently had to mine regularly since I lost 10,000+ images this fall.

It was an interesting juxtaposition of emotions - the children were joyful and making buckets of "lemonade out of lemons" with what they had to work with - but, despite all that joy an innocence and simplicity - the scene was haunting. It never left me. And I worked with that first image until it represented the way I saw the scene when I came upon it.
