Aloha Tree

This is the tree outside of my room that I pass on my morning walk here in Hawaii. In order to get my walk in before starting work -- I have to walk in the dark. The surf pounds and splashes and throws rocks onto the path -- and I maneuver through with only a hint of distant moonlight to guide the way. Just as the sun starts to light the sky -- when everything goes from dark to gray -- I know its time to head back and ready for the working day. And, at that telling moment, I love how this beach tree near my room suddenly morphs out of the darkness into a thing of complex and stark beauty against the warming sky.

Aloha!

This photo and the accompanying narrative breath warm life into my snow-locked apartment. Thank you for that.

Your photography tells much about both the object and about the gaze of the subject.

The lizard photos engage a sense of wonder.

Aloha

The writer in me can't help notice the narrative in this post. It is beautifully written. You brought that tree to life for those of us who can't experience it first hand. Thanks.
